At Auto Parts City, we want you to receive the correct vehicle part in good condition and suitable for the vehicle specified when ordering.
Because vehicle parts can be highly specific to a particular make, model, year, engine, transmission and specification, customers are encouraged to confirm compatibility before placing an order.
1. Incorrect or Incorrectly Supplied Parts
If we send you the wrong product or a product that does not match the product ordered, please contact us as soon as possible at autoparts.city123@gmail.com.
We may request photographs, the order number, vehicle details and photographs of the part received so that we can investigate the issue.
Where the error is confirmed to be on our side, we will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include replacement or refund.
2. Change of Mind Returns
Where permitted by applicable South African law, customers may have rights to return goods that they did not have an opportunity to examine before delivery, subject to the requirements and exceptions applicable under the Consumer Protection Act and other applicable legislation.
For ordinary change-of-mind returns, products should be:
-
Unused and uninstalled;
-
In their original condition;
-
Complete with all components and accessories;
-
Free from damage, modification or signs of installation; and
-
Returned with the original packaging where reasonably possible.
Certain products may not be suitable for return after installation, modification, disassembly or use.
3. Vehicle Compatibility
Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information when requesting or purchasing a part, including where applicable:
-
Make;
-
Model;
-
Year;
-
Engine size;
-
Engine code;
-
Transmission;
-
VIN/chassis number; and
-
Part number or OEM number.
Auto Parts City is not responsible for an incorrect fit where incorrect or incomplete vehicle information was supplied by the customer.
If you are unsure whether a part will fit your vehicle, please contact us before purchasing.
4. Installed Parts
Please do not install a part if you are unsure that it is the correct part for your vehicle.
Parts that have been installed, modified, dismantled, damaged or altered may not qualify for a change-of-mind return. This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation in relation to defective or unsuitable goods.
5. Defective or Poor-Quality Products
If a product is defective, unsafe, materially faulty or otherwise does not comply with applicable consumer protection requirements, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the issue.
Where applicable, your statutory rights under South African consumer protection law will apply. The Consumer Protection Act provides statutory remedies for qualifying defective or poor-quality goods, including rights relating to repair, replacement or refund.
We may require the product to be returned for inspection or testing.
6. Used, Reconditioned and Second-Hand Parts
Some products sold by Auto Parts City may be used, second-hand, refurbished or reconditioned.
Where applicable, the product description will indicate the condition of the product.
Used or reconditioned parts may show reasonable signs of previous use. This does not remove any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Complete Engines and Major Mechanical Components
For complete engines, gearboxes, transmissions and other major mechanical components, customers should confirm compatibility before purchase.
Where applicable, installation should be performed by a suitably qualified mechanic.
Customers should inspect the product before installation and contact Auto Parts City immediately if there appears to be a significant discrepancy between the product ordered and the product supplied.
Any specific warranty supplied with a complete engine or major mechanical component will be stated on the relevant product listing or documentation.
8. Return Shipping
Where a return is required because Auto Parts City supplied an incorrect product or where the return is required under applicable consumer protection law, we will determine the appropriate return-shipping arrangement.
For voluntary returns that are not due to an error, defect or other legally protected reason, the customer may be responsible for the applicable return shipping costs.
9. Refunds
Once an approved return has been received and assessed, we will process the applicable remedy.
Where a refund is approved, the refund will normally be made using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
10. How to Request a Return
